Solflare Plans Validator Move After Key Incident Pauses Solana Rewards
Rewards on about 1.56 million Solana (SOL) are paused, while Solflare says stakers retain control of their principal.

Solflare plans to move stakers to a new validator after it said its provider reported a security incident involving keys held for the current node, pausing rewards on about 1.56 million Solana (SOL).
Solflare said Tuesday, Oct. 27, that delegated SOL remains in each staker’s own stake account, controlled by that user’s keys. The company said validator key holders cannot withdraw stake from a delegator’s account. “No user funds were touched,” Solflare said.
At 9:05 a.m. ET (13:05 UTC) Wednesday, Oct. 28, 1,559,012 SOL was delegated to the validator, which was marked delinquent and had no vote credits in epoch 1070.
Stakers do not need to act yet. Solflare says an upcoming app update will guide them through the move, but it has not set a release date. Rewards will remain paused until each user’s stake is active on the new validator.
Solflare is working on a compensation plan for users who migrate but has not disclosed its terms. The wallet said the migration will happen through its app and warned that it will not contact users by direct message or send them a link about the move.
