Katana Inu set Oct. 22 as the start of Steam Early Access for its free-to-play game, but the full game remained unavailable on Steam and the status of a complete playable build was not confirmed.

A demo was available while the full game remained marked “Coming soon.” Katana Inu is a third-person player-versus-player action game built around sword combat. Its modes include 1v1, 3v3, free-for-all and Battle Royale.

Katana Inu said Oct. 21 that it had an agreement to bring the game to PlayStation 5 for its full launch. The announcement did not identify the other party or provide a release date.

The project’s PS5 timelines conflict. Development is described as underway, with devkit access and certification pending, while one timeline places development in Q3 2027 and a console launch in Q4 2027. A separate target calls for PS5 in Q1 2027 after a funding raise.

Players can use the Steam version without a crypto wallet, blockchain access or NFTs. A separate launcher makes Web3 features optional, including NFT-based assets and the KATA token.
