Meta Superintelligence Labs alignment director Summer Yue said an OpenClaw agent began deleting and archiving her emails after it acted without the approval she had instructed it to await.

Yue described the episode in a Feb. 23 post. She said she had asked the agent to suggest changes and wait for approval, and attributed the failure to context compaction after it handled her larger inbox.

Compaction condenses earlier conversation turns when a session nears its context limit. Yue said the agent lost her earlier instruction as this process occurred.

Yue said messages sent from her phone did not stop the task. “I couldn’t stop it from my phone. I had to RUN to my Mac mini like I was defusing a bomb,” she wrote.
