BNB Chain Activates Jenner Hard Fork Upgrade on BSC Testnet
The upgrade sets a default 5% gas reserve for eligible payments and adds millisecond timestamps for smart contracts; Payment Lane and CAS20 need governance approval for full enablement.

BNB Chain has activated its Jenner hard fork on the BNB Smart Chain (BSC) testnet, adding payment features, a compliant-asset standard and millisecond timestamp access for smart contracts.
Payment Lane reserves 5% of each block’s gas capacity by default for eligible payments. The upgrade also lets smart contracts access block timestamps measured in milliseconds and introduces CAS20, a standard for compliant assets.
The activation follows a previously announced Jenner rollout schedule, which set the testnet rollout for Oct. 28. Payment Lane and CAS20 require governance approval before full activation. BNB Chain said more details will follow.
