Curve Finance has launched StableSwap on Stellar’s mainnet, marking its first native deployment outside the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) ecosystem and bringing permissionless pool tools to Stellar users.

Users can create liquidity pools without permission through StableSwap, then swap assets or provide liquidity. Curve’s total value locked was about $1.27 billion on Oct. 29.

Curve founder Michael Egorov said institutional demand partly drove the move to non-EVM networks. He described Stellar as relatively close to usage patterns familiar to EVM users.

The launch announcement also outlined plans for FXSwap to launch on Stellar after an audit. No timetable was announced.
