Cloudflare mitigated 23.2 million network-layer distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks from January through June, including 935 that exceeded one terabit per second (Tbps). The total captures the scale of attacks handled over the six-month period.

Cloudflare mitigated 805 attacks above one Tbps in the second quarter. The company published its half-year report Aug. 11.

On March 19, the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) joined a court-authorized operation targeting command-and-control infrastructure used by the Aisuru, KimWolf, JackSkid and Mossad botnets.

The DOJ said court documents described the botnets as infecting millions of devices. The department separately said the number of devices hijacked worldwide exceeded three million as of March 2026.

“Today, the United States joined international law enforcement partners in coordinated enforcement actions to disrupt DDoS threats impacting Alaskans and victims around the world,” U.S. Attorney Michael J. Heyman for the District of Alaska said at the time.
