Indodax, Indonesia’s largest crypto exchange, has paused deposits and withdrawals after detecting an increase in attempted cyberattacks, co-founder and CEO William Sutanto said. The halt covers both ways customers move funds through the platform.

Sutanto described the pause as a preventive security measure. Indodax’s team is conducting a security assessment and working to reduce risk. The exchange will restore the affected services once it confirms the platform is safe, he said.

Sutanto said customer assets remain safe. The exchange has found no unauthorized withdrawals or data leaks, he said. His update describes increased attack attempts, but no unauthorized withdrawals or data exposure.

The team’s security review and risk-mitigation work are continuing during the suspension. Neither deposit nor withdrawal service is available during the pause. Indodax has tied the return of both functions to confirmation that the platform is safe. The temporary stoppage therefore remains connected to the company’s security assessment and risk-reduction effort.
