Binance has paused withdrawals while it carries out security checks, with the exchange saying service will resume only after the security issue is fully resolved. The pause leaves customers unable to move funds off the platform through withdrawals, and Binance has not set a restart time for the service.

Binance said user funds remain safe and that it will continue providing updates. The company did not describe the security issue in detail or provide a timetable for completing its review.

Earlier, Binance said a technical error had blocked withdrawals for some users and that it was working to restore them. Its latest update cites security checks as the condition that must be met before withdrawals resume.

Withdrawals allow account holders to transfer crypto away from an exchange, so the pause affects access to funds held on Binance. The exchange said it would continue sharing updates as its security checks continue.
