ENS Governor Nexus Proposal Would Set New Voting and Delay Rules
The design includes three proposal types and a conditional 48-hour extension for measures that were failing during the final 24 hours but are passing at the original deadline.

An Ethereum Name Service (ENS) decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) proposal would reshape how Governor Nexus handles governance, adding three proposal types, an active-proposal cap and a narrowly triggered voting extension.
The update is built on OpenZeppelin v5.6.1 and is intended to address risks identified in a governance security assessment. It would also support batch voting and ERC-1271 signatures.
The proposed rules would set voting delays by proposal type, including a two-day delay for migration proposals. Each proposer would initially be limited to two active proposals at a time, with the limit adjustable from one to 10. Voters could change their votes before the deadline.
The three types are Standard, Optimistic and Bond. An Optimistic proposal would pass unless opposed by 500,000 ENS, but only allowlisted proposers and actions could use that option; both allowlists would start empty. The Bond type would require a 1,000 ENS deposit.
The extension rule would apply only when a proposal had been observed failing at some point during the final 24 hours and was passing at its original deadline. If both conditions were met, voting would continue for 48 hours after that deadline.
