Caldera has frozen ERA held at an address it identified as belonging to the attacker in the Binance incident, using a new control in its Ethereum token contract to block transfers from that address.

Caldera added an emergency freeze function to its token contract on Ethereum mainnet and applied the control to the address. Follow-up testing confirmed that ERA remaining there could not be transferred. The action is scoped to the address Caldera froze: its current ERA holdings are nontransferable under the contract’s freeze function. Caldera implemented the restriction through its token contract on Ethereum mainnet.

The freeze adds a token-level response to the Binance security incident. It directly affects ERA held at the targeted address, and the post-freeze test checked whether those tokens could still move. The result was that they could not. The key development is the addition and use of the freeze control, followed by confirmation that it stopped transfers from the address.
