Retired 9,600-GPU Nvidia Cluster Was Listed on eBay for $59.7 Million

The 300-rack system included 4,200 AMD EPYC processors and about 269,000 CPU cores. The listing ended Oct. 28 without disclosing whether it sold.

A Minnesota reseller’s listing for a retired AI cluster with 9,600 Nvidia A100 GPUs ended Oct. 28 at an asking price of $59.7 million, with no sale outcome disclosed.

Core 4 Solutions offered the 300-rack system on eBay with free shipping. The listing ended after the equipment was marked unavailable, but the page did not say whether a transaction was completed. The $59.7 million figure was an asking price for the full lot.

Each rack contained four compute nodes, each equipped with eight A100 GPUs with 40GB of memory, plus three management servers. That configuration totals 32 GPUs per rack and 9,600 across the cluster. The system also included 4,200 AMD EPYC processors and about 269,000 CPU cores.

Core 4 Solutions is based in Eden Prairie, Minnesota, and sells new and refurbished servers while handling IT asset disposition. Its eBay account showed 21,217 ratings and 99.9% positive feedback.

ZT Systems manufactured the racks. They had previously been deployed in a hyperscale cloud provider’s data center before being retired; the seller did not identify the former operator.

Nvidia introduced the A100, a data-center GPU, in 2020. The cluster’s GPU count exceeded the 6,080 A100s in the first phase of Meta’s AI Research SuperCluster (RSC), which Meta announced in 2022.

Dividing the asking price by the GPU count gives a rough average of about $6,200 per card. That is not a GPU-only price: the listing covered the full cluster, including servers, network cards, memory and racks.

Older A100 hardware also remains in use for compute rentals. CoreWeave CEO Mike Intrator said during an August 2026 earnings call that the company had signed an A100 rental contract running through 2029. He also said average selling prices for older GPUs were flat or higher than a year earlier.

Listed A100 rental rates were above January levels. The eBay listing’s sale status remained undisclosed when it ended Oct. 28.
