Kraken restored spot and derivatives platform access late Thursday after a 60-minute outage disrupted client connections and order submissions.

The exchange’s incident notice began at 10:42 p.m. ET Oct. 29 (02:42 UTC Oct. 30) and was marked resolved at 11:42 p.m. ET (03:42 UTC). An interim update at 10:55 p.m. ET said the investigation was continuing.

Clients encountered problems across web and mobile applications, as well as REST, WebSocket and FIX connections. Kraken’s affected-services list named its website, app, REST and WebSocket API services, and derivatives cross-exchange transfers.

The notice described effects on both spot and derivatives clients, but its service list specified cross-exchange transfers for derivatives and did not detail the broader impact. Kraken did not provide a technical cause, an affected-account count or the number of disrupted orders.

The outage began late Thursday in the United States, although Kraken’s timestamps fell on Oct. 30 in UTC.
