An Ethereum community proposal would replace broad, long-term permissions for security transaction verification and authorization (STVA) with short-lived tokens tied to specific operations to limit high-value losses.

The proposal recommends revocable capability tokens, each granting permission for a defined task. Examples include upgrading an implementation, transferring funds or installing a module. The tokens could use EIP-712 or ERC-1271.
