Amplitude Says It Detected Unauthorized Access Sept. 28
The affected event data belonged to less than 0.3% of Amplitude customer accounts; Coinbase gave no affected-user count in its disclosure.

Amplitude’s update puts event data tied to less than 0.3% of its customer accounts in an unauthorized-access incident, while Coinbase described a small subset of customers and gave no affected-user count in its disclosure.
Amplitude said its security team detected unauthorized access to a limited area of its internal systems on Sept. 28. The company said it contained and remediated the access and contacted customers whose event data was affected. Its Oct. 28 update identifies Sept. 28 as the detection date but does not give a date for when access began.
The less than 0.3% figure applies to Amplitude’s customer accounts overall. It does not show how many individual Coinbase customers were involved or what portion of Amplitude’s affected accounts was tied to Coinbase.
Coinbase Support’s post at 10:49 p.m. ET Tuesday said contact data for a small subset of Coinbase customers was involved. Coinbase said it had found no sign of unauthorized access to its systems. It said customer funds were unaffected and that it was notifying affected customers and regulators. The company did not specify which contact fields were involved.
The vendor update adds detail to TokenPost’s earlier coverage of Coinbase’s disclosure.
