The Newton Foundation said a suspected attacker in the Binance theft apparently sent tokens valued at about $3.5 million at current prices to the NEWT contract on Oct. 30. The transfer included eight million NEWT and 17 other token types: ANIME, ANKR, ARPA, BARD, CELR, DENT, DOLO, FTT, GLM, HIGH, HOT, KNC, LQTY, RARE, RESOLV, SIGN and WOO.

The foundation said the contract itself was not compromised. It has no owner or administrator controls, and its management privileges were relinquished on-chain in 2025. Upgrades are permanently disabled, leaving the tokens unrecoverable, the foundation said.

An address Odysseus linked to the suspected Binance hot-wallet theft borrowed 19,762 Ether on Aave V3 after depositing about 60 million Tether.
