Artificial intelligence was used in a business function at 18% of U.S. firms during November 2025 through January 2026. A separate measure found that 23% of firms had workers using AI for work-related tasks.

The percentages capture different kinds of workplace use. The 18% measure tracks whether a firm used AI in a business function; the 23% measure tracks workers’ use of AI for work-related tasks. The latter does not mean those firms had broadly integrated AI across their operations.

These adoption figures do not count job losses. A July forecast put potential AI displacement at about 9% of U.S. workers, or around 15 million people, over a 10-year adoption period. The estimate describes workers needing new jobs and expects new positions to absorb many over time; it does not predict that 15 million people will remain unemployed. TokenPost previously covered Goldman’s 9% scenario and its separate 6% to 7% estimate.
