Developer Kruw accused a miner he identified as “Powre” of leaving his consolidation transaction out of Bitcoin (BTC) block 973,817. The exchange centered on miners’ control over transaction selection and Ocean’s pooled rewards.

The transaction ID Kruw cited does not appear in the block. Its absence does not establish why it was left out or whether the miner’s node received it in time.

Block 973,817 was added to Bitcoin at 7:33:30 a.m. ET (11:33:30 UTC) Oct. 30. It contained 1,698 transactions and collected 0.01586594 BTC in fees. Kruw’s comparison showed an expected template with 3,580 transactions and put the block’s fees 7.68% below that template. The displayed fee figures were rounded, so they do not allow an exact recalculation; the percentage concerns fees, not the full block reward or miners’ payouts.

Ocean’s DATUM lets participating miners build block templates using their own nodes while the pool coordinates reward splits. Under TIDES, reward shares are calculated from accepted proof-of-work shares and the total block reward, including the subsidy and transaction fees.

Coinjoined Chris defended miners’ discretion, writing, “A block earning 7.68% less than some hypothetical maximum is not, by itself, proof of censorship.” Kruw argued Ocean should reject work that leaves fees uncollected.
