Chainalysis said attackers used AI-driven agent technology to gain unauthorized access to internal systems and tools, exposing customer names, email addresses, user IDs and organizational job titles. The incident puts the security of customer information held by crypto-industry service providers in focus.

Chainalysis listed four exposed data categories: names, email addresses, user IDs and job titles tied to organizations. Names and emails are contact details, while user IDs and job titles identify customers and their organizational roles. The company said it found no evidence that passwords, multifactor authentication (MFA) keys, session tokens or sensitive investigation data were exposed. Chainalysis distinguished the exposed customer identifiers from the credentials and investigative information it specifically addressed.

Chainalysis is a blockchain analysis company serving the crypto industry. The company said the incident was unrelated to the recent $6 billion Binance hack, distinguishing its data exposure from that separate security event.
