Ollie, a privacy-focused AI assistant for family coordination, will shut down Nov. 6, ending a service that linked users’ email and calendars with everyday household tasks.

Co-founder and CEO Bill Lennon announced the shutdown Friday. He said the arrival of Muse, Instinct and other assistants made it harder for Ollie to stand out, grow and raise the funding needed to succeed. “We got close, but ultimately couldn’t keep up,” Lennon said.

Ollie offered appointment bookings, meal planning and bill payments. The company had also planned to expand into household budgeting. The service used a subscription model and achieved SOC 2, a privacy compliance standard based on an independent audit.

TokenPost previously covered Ollie’s text-based family assistant and its email, calendar and school communication tools. Customers will receive instructions in the coming days on exporting their data and obtaining refunds, Lennon said.
