Chainalysis said external attackers accessed its systems and internal tools without authorization, exposing some customer information in an incident that raises data-security concerns for crypto firms.

The blockchain analytics company said the information accessed included platform user IDs, names, email addresses and organizational role details. The records concern customers and members of their organizations. Chainalysis is still identifying which records were affected.

The company said its investigation has found no evidence that attackers accessed investigative materials such as charts, notes or case information, or transaction and query results. It also has found no evidence of access to plaintext passwords, multifactor authentication keys or user session tokens. Chainalysis said the attackers used agentic techniques to reach its systems and internal tools.

Chainalysis is investigating, fixing vulnerabilities and strengthening its systems. The company said it will share more details after determining the scope of affected records. It also said the incident is unrelated to the recent theft of crypto assets from Binance.
