Binance found additional vulnerabilities in its systems and on a computer already identified as compromised, extending the investigation beyond the laptop first identified in the security incident.

The discovery widens the review from a single device to weaknesses affecting both Binance’s systems and the compromised computer. It does not establish that each vulnerability was exploited. A vulnerability is a weakness that may permit unauthorized access; identifying one is distinct from confirming that it was used. Investigators will need to determine whether the newly identified weaknesses are connected to the incident and how they relate to the compromised computer.

Binance is a major cryptocurrency exchange, making the security of its systems central to the investigation. The newly identified vulnerabilities broaden the areas under examination, but the development remains a finding about potential weaknesses. It does not by itself show how the incident unfolded or establish that every identified flaw was an entry point.
