ZetaChain amplified a social post describing Solana as faster after Alpenglow went live.

Solana activated Alpenglow on Oct. 21. The consensus upgrade aims to reduce transaction finality — the point at which a blockchain transaction is treated as irreversible — from about 12.8 seconds to roughly 150 milliseconds. That figure is a design target.

Alpenglow also changed how transaction totals reflect validator votes. Before the transition, validator votes appeared as transactions in blocks. Under Votor, validators exchange votes directly and combine them into certificates, making non-vote counts more useful for comparing activity before and after the upgrade. Earlier coverage explained how the upgrade changed Solana’s transaction counts.
