Blockaid detected DNS hijacking at websites for multiple Web3 projects, including Flap and Stonk. Visitors trying to access those sites were redirected to hacker-designed pages containing malicious software. The redirects could expose crypto users to phishing attempts and wallet theft.

The incident affected project websites and the pages visitors were redirected to. Instead of loading the project sites they sought, users were sent to malicious destinations. That makes the incident a security threat for people visiting those web addresses, since the pages contained malware.

DNS hijacking is the mechanism described in the alert: visitors to multiple project websites were redirected from the sites they intended to open. The affected names identified were Flap and Stonk, and the redirected pages were designed by hackers to contain malicious software. For crypto users, the concern is the possibility of phishing or wallet theft through those malicious pages.
