Balancer's core team ended normal operations Saturday as the protocol began a phased shutdown under community-approved BIP-928, moving most pools to withdrawals only and setting Nov. 30 as the cutoff for extended V3 pools.

Balancer core contributor Marcus Hardt said Oct. 31 was the team's last normal workday. Most pools switched to withdrawal-only mode Friday, Oct. 30, and the protocol's bug bounty program ended that day.

A limited set of V3 pools approved for an extension will continue until Nov. 30. Balancer's V3 Vault is scheduled to pause that day, setting the next date in the staged shutdown.

The shutdown follows a year marked by a hack, fund recovery and team restructuring. Hardt said users should use Balancer's official channels for details on further withdrawal arrangements as the protocol's closeout process continues in the coming weeks.
