Troves Pauses Three Starknet Vaults After Preliminary Loss of About 8.6 BTC
The attack involved an older asset rebalancing contract that retained permissions after being replaced. Troves said no other vaults had suffered actual losses.

Troves put the initial loss from an Oct. 31 attack on its xWBTC/WBTC vault at about 8.6 BTC and said it had suspended that vault and two others on Starknet.
The attack took place Oct. 31. Troves said its investigation found that an older asset rebalancing contract had been replaced but still retained operational permissions. The affected xWBTC/WBTC vault was paused along with the xSTRK/STRK and xstrkBTC/strkBTC vaults to limit potential risk.
Troves said it has not found actual losses in other vaults. The platform is working with security firms to trace the funds and examine recovery options. It plans to publish a detailed incident analysis and information on how affected depositors will be handled, but gave no release date.
Troves is a decentralized finance yield strategy platform in the Starknet ecosystem. The reported loss remains preliminary while the investigation continues. The pause covers all three vaults as fund tracing and recovery work proceeds.
