Core DAO Says b14g Exploit Did Not Compromise Core Network
b14g put the unauthorized withdrawal at about 97 million CORE. Core DAO said most of the tokens remain on the chain.

Core DAO said Sunday the b14g exploit did not compromise the Core network, with consensus, validators and staking contracts continuing to operate normally. The assurance follows an unauthorized withdrawal of about 97 million CORE from b14g’s Bitcoin dual-staking protocol.
b14g said the tokens were taken at 5:29 a.m. ET (9:29 a.m. UTC) Saturday, Oct. 31, and sent to an attacker-controlled address. It said it paused the affected contracts after discovering the withdrawal and is working with Core DAO, security partners and exchanges to trace the funds and coordinate recovery.
Core DAO said CORE staked directly with its validators, as well as CORE staked through other protocols, was unaffected. The DAO said it is helping b14g and exchange partners track and freeze funds. Most of the stolen CORE remains on the Core blockchain, while exchanges are freezing deposits linked to the attacker.
