Codex users said their usage records contained the identifier gpt-6.2-astra, prompting speculation about a possible limited OpenAI test even as the product selector continued to show GPT-6 Astra.

One user-posted screenshot showed about 19.8% of requests assigned to the lowercase identifier. Other users said they had not seen it in their own records, so the reports were not consistent.

OpenAI had not issued an official statement as of Nov. 1, and gpt-6.2-astra was not listed in the API. The reports raise the possibility of a limited test but do not confirm one.
