Secret Service Continues Binance Probe After Rapid Freeze of Stolen Crypto

The U.S. Secret Service is continuing to investigate a theft from Binance that the agency has described as exceeding $6 billion. Investigators worked with industry partners to identify and freeze a large amount of stolen cryptocurrency within minutes of the Oct. 29 incident.

Binance estimated its losses at $6.3 billion after its hot wallets were compromised. The Secret Service’s investigation follows Binance’s earlier statement that it was working with the FBI and the agency on the theft probe.
