OKX Star Details Four-Part Wallet Security Review After Binance Incident
The work includes tracking stolen funds with delays measured in seconds, strengthening market safeguards and checking risks tied to AI coding tools.

On Nov. 2, OKX Star outlined four areas of security work after Binance’s Oct. 29 hot-wallet compromise, calling it an industry warning rather than a response to an attack on OKX.
OKX Star said the team aims to track stolen funds with delays measured in seconds, flag suspicious addresses and transactions, and try to stop stolen funds from being transferred or laundered through OKX’s exchange and Web3 decentralized exchange (DEX) aggregator.
The work also includes stronger safeguards against liquidity shocks, cascading liquidations and the potential spread of market risks.
The team is examining attack methods and possible weaknesses tied to software supply chains, AI coding agents and their dependencies. The review also covers internal controls, permissions, wallet infrastructure and security architecture.
The exchange had also amplified an @star_okx post making allegations about security incidents at Bybit, Bitget and Binance.
