Sharplink CEO Says Off-Hours Pricing May Slow Blockchain Adoption
Chainlink’s service uses existing 24/5 data during traditional market sessions and perpetual-market quotes after those markets close.

Sharplink CEO Joseph Chalom said institutions’ dependence on traditional financial systems may make it harder for them to adopt blockchain solutions when asset prices are unavailable outside regular market hours.
Chainlink’s 24/7 pricing service for tokenized assets uses existing 24/5 data during traditional market sessions. When those markets close, it combines quotes from perpetual trading platforms to maintain reference prices based on related derivatives activity, rather than live quotes from traditional exchanges.
Potential applications include tokenized-asset trading, perpetual contracts, prediction markets and lending.
