Palantir CEO Karp said the company wants to provide AI systems to Japan’s Self-Defense Forces. He said Japan could gain an advantage by developing an AI technology stack tailored to its defense needs.

Karp also urged Japan’s private sector to develop and train its own AI models, keep control of them and protect its intellectual property.

In September, Palantir and NVIDIA announced a sovereign AI collaboration pairing NVIDIA’s Nemotron models with Palantir’s Foundry and Artificial Intelligence Platform.
