NVIDIA is pitching its software and computing systems for city services, traffic operations and urban planning, using projects across North America, Europe, Africa and Asia to show how local governments may apply AI.

The examples span different stages, from resident-service tools with deployments to systems being built or planned. The projects include software agents for resident services, camera-feed analysis and digital twins used to assess planning scenarios.

In Spain, 1MillionBot is combining ALIA models trained at Barcelona Supercomputing Center with NVIDIA Nemotron and other models for resident-service agents. The projects include Madrid Digital and Administració Oberta de Catalunya, with more than 150 deployments across Spain.

In the San Francisco Bay Area, LiveX is building conversational AI hosts for airports, hospitals, events and other public spaces. The work uses NVIDIA’s Cosmos, Nemotron, Omniverse and Metropolis tools on RTX PRO GPUs.

In Wrocław, Poland, K2K is building shared infrastructure to analyze existing camera feeds for mobility, safety and event response. In Malaysia, ITMAX is expanding its SamurAI V2 vision agents toward a target of supporting more than 17,000 cameras by 2027.

In Taiwan, Linker Vision and MVRDV are using Omniverse and Nemotron to assess urban-forest plans. The work includes a projection spanning 15 years. Linker Vision has described the project as a pilot, with planners reviewing recommendations before projects advance.

At Dangote’s Lekki refinery in Nigeria, Nemotron-powered agents are part of Honeywell Technologies’ Forge Plant Cognition for interpreting operational data. A digital twin of the refinery is planned for simulation and training. In Morocco, Cires Technologies is expanding an AI factory for Tanger Med port, with planned applications including worker safety, congestion analysis, cargo routing and port operations.

NVIDIA said city governments can control how sensitive data is processed and used, and that some workloads can start on RTX workstations or a small GPU system. The company is showcasing the projects around Smart City Expo World Congress, which runs Nov. 3-5 in Barcelona.
