Solana Foundation Introduced Open-Source Monitoring Tool for Programs
Microscope decodes confirmed transactions for selected programs and sends records, metrics and configurable alerts to tools operators host themselves.

The Solana Foundation introduced Microscope, an open-source tool that turns confirmed transactions from configured Solana programs into decoded records, dashboards and alerts in teams’ own environments.
The Foundation introduced the tool on Oct. 5. Operators connect a program through a Yellowstone gRPC stream or a Solana remote procedure call (RPC) endpoint. Microscope uses the program’s interface definition language (IDL) to decode instructions and events, then sends structured records to Loki and metrics to Prometheus. Grafana provides dashboards and alert rules.
Teams can configure alerts for specific instructions or events, including checks on fields such as amounts. Alerts can go to Slack, Telegram or PagerDuty. A deployment covers one program and can also monitor one Squads multisig, including actions such as proposal approvals.
Operators provide the program ID and IDL, select a transaction source and define alert conditions. Microscope can also flag problems in its own data pipeline, including a stalled stream or outdated RPC polling. Operators host the system themselves; the Solana Foundation does not host deployments or receive their deployment data.
