Google plans to invest $15 billion to expand its data center footprint in Malaysia, alongside clean energy and water projects.

Google’s broader Malaysia buildout also includes plans for water infrastructure in Negeri Sembilan and workforce programs.

The expansion builds on Google’s 2024 investment of $2 billion in Malaysia. That earlier commitment included plans to develop the company’s first Malaysian data center and Google Cloud region at Elmina Business Park in Selangor.

Google plans additional data center campuses in Selangor and Negeri Sembilan. The projects would expand its infrastructure beyond the Elmina site.

Google has signed multiple long-term solar power agreements in Malaysia aimed at covering its electricity costs.

In Negeri Sembilan, the buildout also includes an off-river reservoir and a water treatment plant.
