Crédit Mutuel Arkéa Confirms Attack Tied to Fraudulent Transactions
The French bank said customers lost no funds; investigator ZachXBT estimated at least $133 million tied to the case moved through crypto channels.

Crédit Mutuel Arkéa confirmed an attack tied to fraudulent transactions, while on-chain investigator ZachXBT estimated at least $133 million in related funds moved through cryptocurrency channels.
The French banking group said it contained the incident and that customers lost no funds. It notified regulators but has not disclosed any total loss amount, leaving its own financial exposure unspecified.
During one four-hour period, $62.98 million in stablecoins was converted into 27,553 Ether (ETH) through UniswapX; some funds were later converted into Monero (XMR). This conversion figure is a transaction amount, while ZachXBT’s $133 million estimate covers funds tied to the incident. Neither figure is a loss amount disclosed by the bank.
Kraken restricted related accounts, and Crypto.com froze funds tied to the activity. No total for the frozen funds was disclosed. The episode links an attack on a European financial institution with a crypto trail that includes Ether and Monero, while the bank says its customers suffered no losses.
