Circle Sets Arc Payment Sector Target Above 100,000 Transactions Per Second
Arc is also being designed for institutional activity, selective privacy and AI agents. Circle expects the network to support AI-agent discovery, hiring, payment and trust by the first quarter of 2027.

Circle is developing Arc Sectors, specialized channels for payments, institutional activity, privacy and AI agents, with the payment sector targeting more than 100,000 transactions per second.
The planned institutional channel would serve financial firms. Privacy options would allow selective confidentiality and disclosure, while an AI-agent channel would include identity verification and audit trails.
Circle expects Arc to support the discovery, hiring, payment and trust of AI agents by the first quarter of 2027.
By late October, USDC, cirBTC and EURC on Arc had a combined value of about $1.5 billion. More than $30 billion in USDC had moved through the network since launch, and Arc was processing about 500,000 transactions a day.
The sector plan adds detail to Arc’s earlier roadmap, which identified privacy and scalability as priorities.
