D-Wave Cuts Stride Solver Benchmark Time From 120 Seconds to 15
Tests on traveling-salesperson problems with as many as 10,000 locations showed average error of 0.02%. D-Wave also launched a three-course learning path for developers.

D-Wave Quantum Inc. announced Nov. 4 that an updated version of its Stride hybrid solver completed a benchmark in 15 seconds, compared with 120 seconds for its previous version.
Separately, D-Wave's traveling-salesperson tests with as many as 10,000 locations showed average error of 0.02% from the best possible route. In comparisons with equal runtime, the updated solver's results were more than 200 times closer to the optimum than the previous version.
The traveling-salesperson problem asks a system to find the shortest route that visits each location once. Stride combines quantum annealing with classical computing and is available through D-Wave's Leap cloud service. The company targets enterprise optimization work in fields such as logistics and manufacturing.
D-Wave also launched a three-course Applied Quantum Optimization learning path intended to help developers use Stride.
