XRP Ledger Activates Fix for Delegated Token-Burning Flaw
The update also corrects an AMM clawback edge case and single-asset vault calculations, while institutional credit remains pending separate votes.

The XRP Ledger activated a protocol change Nov. 4 that addresses a delegated token-burning flaw and repairs automated market maker and vault accounting, while leaving the network’s lending proposal pending.
The fixCleanup3_4_0 amendment took effect at 9:52 a.m. ET (14:52 UTC), in ledger 108,112,129. The PaymentBurn permission is used to burn fungible tokens or Multi-Purpose Tokens (MPTs). Under the earlier rule, a delegate with that permission could sometimes create fungible tokens; the new rule rejects PaymentBurn payments that cross a zero balance.
The amendment also addresses an AMMClawback rounding case that could burn a holder’s liquidity-provider tokens while recovering zero. It adds precision and rounding corrections for VaultDeposit, VaultWithdraw and VaultClawback operations involving single-asset vaults.
The update does not activate institutional credit. That feature remains open for voting and requires separate LendingProtocol amendments. For a ledger amendment to take effect, yes votes must exceed 80% of trusted validators and stay above that mark for two weeks.
