Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing (HKEX) plans a blockchain-supported platform for tokenized assets, with pilot trading in carbon credits and a proposed addition of warehouse receipts from Hong Kong in 2027.

The plan covers one platform: tokenized carbon credits would be eligible for pilot trading, while HKEX plans to bring warehouse receipts into the pilot in 2027.

The receipts would be held in Hong Kong and backed by warehouses recognized by the London Metal Exchange.
