Vitalik Buterin Says Lean Ethereum Tools Could Improve Network Performance
He cited zero-knowledge proofs, artificial intelligence and formal verification as tools for upgrades that preserve decentralization and security.

Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin said Lean Ethereum upgrades could improve the network’s performance through tools such as zero-knowledge proofs, artificial intelligence and formal verification while preserving decentralization and security.
Buterin described the Ethereum Foundation’s role as focusing on work within its strengths and providing developers with technical help on security, privacy and openness. He said the community should handle areas beyond the foundation’s expertise that are closer to users.
Buterin previously discussed AI’s potential role in accelerating Ethereum’s long-term roadmap.
