Chainalysis took its transaction-monitoring, address-screening and investigation tools offline after user credentials were exposed, requiring a password reset and API-key rotation across its user base.

The company said hackers used agent technology to expose the names, usernames, password hashes and valid tokens of all users. It said some customers' KYT accounts may have been accessed without authorization. That account-access concern was limited to some KYT customers, while the exposed credential set included all users.

Chainalysis required users to reset passwords and rotate API keys. The response applies to the entire user base, including users whose accounts were not among those suspected of unauthorized access. The three offline service areas were monitoring, address screening and investigations.

The outage also affected withdrawal services at two named platforms. Coincheck halted cryptocurrency withdrawals because of an external blockchain analytics service outage, while ICONOMI suspended withdrawals over Chainalysis service problems.
