A shipment of Nvidia hardware valued at $11.4 million disappeared while traveling from California to Texas, and the theft was reported to Oakland police 15 days after a fake carrier collected it.

A truck posing as a food transport company picked up six pallets on Aug. 29. The shipment was bound for Fort Worth, Texas. The truck made several stops lasting multiple hours before authorities lost track of it in San Bernardino County, the cargo’s last known location.

Oakland police received a theft report on Sept. 13. As of Friday, Nov. 6, there had been no arrests, and the hardware had not been recovered.

The value of the shipment exceeded the combined value of Nvidia cargo thefts in 2025, which totaled more than $7.5 million. A related theft attempt in September involved 40,000 pounds of sand used as ballast instead of hardware.
