Google DeepMind said human-guided AI agents found two weaknesses in traditional 1,024-bit RSA cryptosystems, demonstrating how AI can speed up stress testing of encryption systems.

The company said the two vulnerabilities do not affect modern 2,048-bit systems. It described the research as an example of how AI agents can accelerate testing of cryptographic systems.

Google DeepMind also said cryptographic standards need continued stress testing as AI advances mathematics and computing.
