Chinese AI Mobility Firm Webus Eyes $300M XRP Integration for Global Payments

Webus International Limited, a China-based AI-powered mobility startup, has unveiled plans for a $300 million funding initiative aimed at integrating XRP into its payment ecosystem. The move is designed to support instant international payments for the company’s chauffeur and mobility services.

The substantial funding will be used to build a reserve of XRP tokens, aligning with Webus's goal of leveraging blockchain for faster, borderless transactions. Importantly, the reserve will be created without issuing new equity, ensuring that the company’s current shareholders will not face dilution.

Part of the capital will also be allocated toward developing new blockchain-powered features, including on-chain ride bookings and a tokenized loyalty rewards system. These additions are part of Webus’s broader strategy to innovate its platform and expand globally.

While the funding plan is currently in an exploratory stage and not yet finalized, it signals Webus’s growing interest in XRP and its practical use cases in fintech and transportation. XRP has remained resilient amid a sluggish crypto market, gaining 1% in the past 24 hours, making it one of the few major digital assets showing positive momentum.

The announcement comes shortly after Hyperscale Data disclosed plans to acquire $10 million worth of XRP, further highlighting increasing institutional interest in the altcoin. Webus’s initiative reflects a broader trend of blockchain integration within traditional service industries, with XRP emerging as a preferred asset for efficient and low-cost cross-border payments.
