Keith Gill, better known online as Roaring Kitty, shocked the crypto and stock trading communities after his verified X account posted a Solana Pump.fun contract address following 16 months of inactivity. The unexpected post immediately fueled speculation that the popular GameStop investor’s account may have been hacked.

The now-deleted post appeared on May 11 and featured only a Solana token address tied to a newly launched meme coin called Red Kitten Crew (RKC), along with a short animated clip. Minutes later, another post appeared with the phrase “red bandit crew 4 life” and an image referencing the same token. The unusual activity quickly caught the attention of traders and analysts across social media.

The Solana-based RKC token rapidly surged after the post, climbing to a market capitalization of nearly $6 million before falling back to around $4 million. Trading volume exceeded $2.5 million within 24 hours as speculators rushed into the newly launched meme coin. The token also completed Pump.fun’s bonding curve process and moved to Raydium shortly after launch.

Many users questioned the legitimacy of the posts because Gill has never previously promoted meme coins or participated in Pump.fun launches. His online reputation has largely been built around GameStop stock analysis, options trading, and long-form livestream discussions focused on value investing strategies.

Crypto traders compared the situation to recent social media hacks involving major public figures, including incidents connected to Michael Saylor and football star Kylian Mbappe, where compromised accounts were allegedly used to promote questionable crypto projects.

At the same time, GameStop stock initially gained more than 13% before reversing course. Shares later traded near $23.19 as uncertainty surrounding the account activity continued to spread across the market.

Gill has not publicly confirmed whether the posts were legitimate, leaving traders cautious about the Red Kitten Crew token and its connection to the Roaring Kitty brand.
