Vitalik Buterin Praises Trueo as Prediction Market Plans Ethereum Move
The platform plans to migrate from Base to Ethereum, citing network effects, global integrations and alignment with its long-term goals.

Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin praised Trueo as the prediction-market platform prepares to move from Base to the Ethereum mainnet, a shift intended to support broader integrations and adoption.
Buterin described Trueo as a team pursuing “interesting and meaningful things” with prediction markets. He also praised its focus on “decentralization, and being ethical and not corposlop.”
Trueo launched on Base in March 2025 as an environment for early experimentation while Ethereum mainnet gas costs were higher and parts of the application were still under development. The project said Sept. 21 that it now wants to build a platform that is “widely adopted, broadly integrated, fully permissionless, mostly immutable, and highly credible.”
Trueo said Ethereum’s network effects, global integrations and alignment with its philosophy make the network a better fit for those plans. Its near-term priorities include building liquidity in major market categories and releasing the next version of its oracle, which helps resolve market outcomes.
The platform’s oracle processes evidence from a broad range of legitimate data sources. Trueo has argued that prediction markets need stronger procedures for handling disputes over outcomes.
The migration is not expected to interrupt trading on Base. Existing Base markets that expire after the move will remain available through the official application and continue using the current resolution system.
Trueo advised Base users not to create additional markets expiring after Jan. 31, 2027. New markets should instead be created on Ethereum after the mainnet version goes live.
The project also plans to pursue integrations with oracle services and yield opportunities for its TYD asset. TYD will continue accruing yield during the transition.
TRUE will remain the protocol’s native token. The project’s next concrete step is the launch of its Ethereum mainnet version, while the Jan. 31, 2027, deadline guides which new markets users should create on Base.
