Nasdaq and Russell Rules Create Fast-Entry Path for Large New Listings
Anthropic has not set an IPO date, but late-2026 timing remains under consideration as revised index rules create possible fast-entry pathways for large new listings.

Anthropic’s potential late-2026 IPO could qualify for accelerated entry into the Nasdaq-100 or Russell U.S. indexes if the artificial-intelligence company lists at a sufficiently large market capitalization, creating a possible source of demand from index-tracking funds.
Anthropic confidentially submitted a draft registration statement on Form S-1 to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission on June 1. The company has not set the number of shares, IPO price or listing date, and any offering depends on SEC review, market conditions and other factors.
The timing remains unsettled. IPO marketing could begin no earlier than mid-October, while the offering could also move until after the November U.S. midterm elections.
Nasdaq’s updated methodology, effective May 1, allows a fast-entry review for newly listed companies that rank among the top 40 Nasdaq-100 constituents by full market capitalization. Eligible companies are evaluated on their seventh trading day and may be added afterward if they meet liquidity requirements. The pathway applies only to companies listed on Nasdaq.
FTSE Russell’s revised rules allow qualifying initial public offerings to enter Russell U.S. indexes after the close of the fifth trading day. The process also depends on investable market capitalization, free float and other index requirements.
Index eligibility would not guarantee ETF ownership. Funds tracking an index could need to buy Anthropic shares if the company qualifies, but inclusion would still depend on the applicable listing venue, market capitalization, liquidity, free float and other criteria. Anthropic’s eligibility for Nasdaq-100 or Russell fast entry has not been confirmed.
Two SEC filings identify ETFs tied to Anthropic. A Harbor ETF Trust filing lists the Anthropic AI Lab Ecosystem ETF, ticker ANTW, with an effectiveness date of Sept. 11. A separate filing for the T-REX 2X Long Anthropic Daily Target ETF lists Oct. 2 as its proposed effectiveness date. The filings do not establish how many ETFs, if any, would hold Anthropic shares after an IPO.
Anthropic’s confidential filing means public investors do not yet have the company’s complete IPO financial disclosures, proposed share count, IPO price or ticker. “This gives us the option to go public after the SEC completes its review,” the company said. Anthropic also said, “The number of shares to be offered and the price have not yet been set.”
Anthropic’s confidential SEC registration statement does not establish a listing date. The next concrete step is the SEC’s review of the draft filing.
