Coinbase said Oct. 8 that U.S. traders can access 80% of crypto derivatives liquidity, adding to the exchange’s expansion of its derivatives business.

The announcement broadens the trading opportunities available to eligible U.S. customers, although access remains subject to jurisdiction and onboarding requirements.

The move follows Coinbase’s completed Deribit integration, which brought the crypto options exchange into Coinbase’s global derivatives operations. Coinbase Global Exchange links Coinbase Financial Markets with its global derivatives operations through a single regulated liquidity pool.

Eligible customers can access crypto options and perpetual futures through regulated channels. The Commodity Futures Trading Commission approved Coinbase Clearing LLC’s registration as a derivatives clearing organization, giving Coinbase a broader role in the U.S. derivatives process.
