Musk Says SpaceX Could Be Worth More Than $1 Quadrillion

The speculative scenario depends on orbital AI computing, reusable launch systems and lunar manufacturing that SpaceX has not commercially deployed.

Elon Musk said SpaceX could eventually be worth more than $1 quadrillion, outlining a speculative expansion path built around orbital artificial intelligence infrastructure, reusable launch systems and lunar manufacturing.

“This will sound super crazy, but I see a path to SpaceX being worth orders of magnitude more than the current Earth economy,” Musk wrote Oct. 8 on X.

In a follow-up post, Musk said a valuation above $1,000 trillion was among the possible outcomes. He also stressed that identifying such a path did not mean he had high confidence in it.

A $1 quadrillion valuation would be more than 450 times SpaceX’s approximately $2.1 trillion market capitalization after its first Nasdaq trading day on June 12, 2026.

The comparison with the global economy is not a direct valuation measure. Global nominal gross domestic product is projected at approximately $126.3 trillion for 2026. GDP measures economic output over a year, while market capitalization reflects the value investors place on a company’s equity.

Musk’s scenario goes beyond SpaceX’s existing launch and satellite businesses. It includes solar-powered AI computing in orbit, rapid reuse of Starship and factories on the moon producing components for AI satellites.

Starship is designed as a fully reusable vehicle for transporting people and freight to orbit and, eventually, the moon and Mars. The proposed lunar factories and electromagnetic launch systems are future capabilities rather than commercially operating infrastructure.

The comments revisit an earlier report on Musk’s $1 quadrillion valuation scenario, while adding his explanation that the figure represents a possible outcome rather than a high-confidence forecast.
