Bybit Secures Six Licenses in 2026, Plans More Global Approvals
The approvals cover the European Union, Cayman Islands, Indonesia, South Africa and El Salvador, including an EU electronic money institution license.

Bybit secured six licenses in 2026 and plans to pursue approvals in Brazil, Turkey, Hong Kong and the European Union, extending its reach across multiple markets.
Bybit co-founder and CEO Ben Zhou said the approvals cover the European Union, the Cayman Islands, Indonesia, South Africa and El Salvador. They include an electronic money institution (EMI) license in the European Union.
The exchange also plans to pursue MiFID-related licenses in the European Union, along with additional approvals in Brazil, Turkey and Hong Kong.
The licensing plans follow Bybit’s broader financial-services strategy, which includes expanding into stocks, gold, foreign exchange and payments. Zhou previously outlined that strategy in Bybit’s broader financial-services expansion.
Bybit’s next step is to pursue the planned MiFID-related licenses and additional approvals across the three other markets.
